HOW TO APPLY

APPLICATION PROCESS

Once these minimum standards are met, Applicants seeking employment at the UConn Police Department will go through the following steps (In this general order):
  1. Application
  2. Written Examination
  3. Physical Assessment
  4. Oral Interview (Board consisting of Police & UConn Officials)
  5. Personal History Questionnaire
  6. Polygraph Exam
  7. Psychological Evaluation
  8. Background Investigation
  9. Physical Exam & Drug Screening
  10. Interview with the Chief of Police

Please note that these steps may take weeks or months to complete as the number of applicants varies, and advancing from one phase to the next or within a phase does not necessarily mean you have passed the previous activity, evaluation, or test.

TO APPLY FOR THE JOB OF UCONN POLICE OFFICER

Applicants must be P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officers in the State of Connecticut or have a current valid Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) exam score.
